A Continuing saga:

avril, Avril Hosting, secureserver, xoasis, review, web, site, website, cheap, host, hosting, server, company, equipment, service, opinion, mysql, php, extensions, inexpensive, ftp, support, perl, cgi, hardware, software, matt, matthew, godden, matt godden,

Xoasis has changed their name to Avril Hosting (at Secureserver.com), obviously subscribing to the philosophy "If we change the name of our product, it becomes as good as new". Not a bad move considering the plummeting reputation that the name "Xoasis" has harvested over it's course of business:

Running out of room for these, you get the idea...

All the people who worked hard to put their sites together on xoasis have unwittingly contributed to saturate search engines with links to xoasis' new site. Any website hosted under the xoasis domain is now a re-direct to their new site! Thanks for all the work, suckers!

Some examples:
http://philsassano.xoasis.com

http://healthylife.xoasis.com

http://appletworld.xoasis.com

http://nakago.xoasis.com

Notice, the re-directs are made possible by Matt Goddens own code:

The honorable thing to do would be to give the users of his questionable "service" the option of putting up a redirect to their own new website.

Lest anyone wonder about the affiliation between Avril and Xoasis:

Who knows? Perhaps the "re-branding" of their web-hosting service will be a whole new ball game... surely it can't be worse than the reputation they've built so far...

Or can it?

My own previous experience with Mr. Godden and his company can be found here.
