Here's an example of how Amray
continues to do business, they reject perfectly fine websites, unknowingly
submitted by hard working webmasters to this irresponsible company,
and to avoid answering for their decisions, they redirect their
problems to me.
Imagine how helpful they would be with any problems you would have
with their hosting service! Would you let them look after your website?
This is typical of the emails I get, when Amscray decides to arbitrarily
and without explanation reject a website submitted to them, this
is the typical response from me, since the email is sent to me anyway.
(The identity of the victim is intentionally
anonymous, to protect her from retaliation by the company who exhibits
a pattern of attacking anyone who might point out their glaring
shortcomings)
Brenda,
I'm afraid that you will not get a satisfactory
answer from amray, because they are an unscrupulous organization,
as you can see, they forward all mail addressed to their submit
address to me, who's only connection to the company is an unflattering
profile of their company I published some time ago. They responded
with an attack campaign directed at my website and frequently send
me virus infected emails and submit my email address to spambots.
So be glad that all you got was your site rejected,
your site would be an asset to any directory, but unfortunately,
amray is a far from an ethical company, and I would avoid contact
with them at every opportunity, good luck.

Dear Amray Editor,
Thank you for your email and for taking the time
to review our website.
Actually, I reviewed your Submission Guidelines
as well as reasons that
links
are normally rejected due to and couldn't realize the reason
that our site has not been approved.
I believe we have a quality website and I appreciate
if you help us with
specifying the reason, so we would be able to resolve the issue
with your
advice.
Regards,
Brenda X

Upon reviewing her website, which is very nice, and again reviewing
amrays guidelines, it is evident that they were followed to the
letter.
But what does amray care? Any complaints, questions, pleas for
help are directed to me! So, I try to be helpful the only way I
can, by serving as a warning to other hard working webmasters to
just pretend they never heard of amray. They'll be glad they did!
Why the dishonesty on amrays part? Why the misdirecting, misleading
and carelessness? Is it important?
Well, I'm still as busy as ever, looking after my clients is what
I do, personally, because planetfall is just me. The hosting I recommend
for my clients is inexpensive and reliable, in all my years of doing
this I have had no problems with them, it would be unfair to mention
them by name here, but after ages of experience with hosting companies,
I know a good one when I see one. And I can smell a bad one a mile
away!
- Well, it looks like there is
more, amray is making good on their threats by emailing me virus infected
files, hoping I'm stupid enough to open one (they're really not bright
over there at amray, are they?)
- If you're comfortable doing business with a company
that operates so, well, good luck!
The views, observations, experiences and opinions expressed here are soley my own and not those of my webhost, clients or any affiliates. This journal is my factual and provable account, I have retained all emails from amray with complete headers intact. - Jeffery Wright
